What You Should Know About Our Tandem Skydiving in Victoria

All you really need to know is that you’re about to have one of the best and most badass experiences of your life. However, here is a little more detail so you know what to expect:

●        Prejump preparation: The training takes up to five hours to complete, followed by an exam. Okay, that part’s not true. We’ve done all the training and thousands of jumps, so you don’t have to. All you need to do is listen carefully to our quick but thorough briefing on body shapes and leg bending and get geared up to go. We do the rest. We also supply the gear.

●        Going up: The magical mystery machine (aka our faithful aeroplane) will ascend to 15 000 feet (or 10 000 feet, if you prefer) before levelling off and cruising over our jump site. By this time, you’ll be so excited you can’t wait (we like to call it excitement, anyway). Of course, should there be a few too many clouds, we’ll wait before going up, but don’t worry, we’ll get you there and back, perhaps even more than once.

●        Coming down: You and your instructor will take the brave leap together, freefalling for a thrilling 10 000 feet above the breath-taking landscape. Open your eyes, remember to breathe and make the most of the incredible feeling of freedom. Before you know it, your instructor will release the parachute at 5 000 feet to bring you slowly and safely back down to Earth. You’ll gently land within 100m of the Great Ocean Road, more in love with life, nature and adventure than ever before, and possibly addicted to skydiving in Victoria.

The whole glorious, mind-blowing, hair-blown-back experience of skydiving at the Great Ocean Road in Victoria should take no more than an hour. However, please allow four hours in total to cater for unforeseen weather. We promise you won’t be bored, not even for a minute.

On a clear day, you should be able to see for more than 200km in every direction and get a 360-degree appreciation, but not in a head-spinning way.

●        There’s also so much more to see: The area abounds with wild coastal scenery and sights, so build time in your schedule to visit these natural marvels. Beyond the 12 Apostles, other intriguing geological formations include The Grotto, The Arch and London Arch (formerly London Bridge). You will also enjoy the beautiful and historical Bay of Martyrs, the Bay of Islands, and the 86 Gibson Steps descending in the shadow of 70m high cliffs and imposing offshore stacks. Other places to visit include Peterborough, Port Campbell and Timboon. We love these towns because there’s lots to do, groovy places to stay, and most importantly, beer, coffee, sandwiches, ice cream and cheese. Throw in some mountain biking on top of the skydiving, and it’s pretty much heaven. It’s also beautiful. And fun.
