The Great Ocean Rd!
Voted the world’s best road trip. By everyone.
It is such an amazing road, it even has its own website, which is pretty rare. I had a carport that published its own anarchist circular once, but that is nowhere near as cool.
Here’s our take on it and why we love it jumping where we do and why you’ll love it too.
The twelve apostles, bay of islands, loch ard gorge, london bridge, beaches, cliffs and a living coastline.
We shouldn’t have to tell you about these places. Check out the website below though, just in case it comes up in conversation or something.

Peterborough!
It’s a really pretty town with glorious beaches and coastline. It was apparently first founded by the survivors of a shipwreck, which is pretty badass. There is a general store and some accommodation available, as well as as The Bay of Martyrs, which is just on the other side of town from the airport. If you are after sweet, sweet morning caffeine or a sandwich, there is the lovely Peterborough House.
It is also home to the Peterborough Coastal Reserve, which offers beautiful walking tracks, birds and other such sumptuous damn nature stuff. Go there!

timboon
We’re going to Timmy-boon!
Timboon offers some really sumptuous stuff - there’s a distillery, an ice creamery, a cheesery (!), a provedore, some wonderful cafes, mountain biking and, well, what else - other than skydiving - could you need? It’s a big part of the Great Ocean Road Gourmet trail and you will do very well there, we kindly assure you. In fact, you’ll probably eventually arrange your wedding there. It won’t work out, you’ll want different things and eventually grow apart, but that’s not Timboon’s fault.

Port Campbell
Just on the other side of the 12 Apostles from us is the delicious Port Campbell. It is verily filled with places to stay and stuff to do, as well as being super pretty in it’s own right. Lots of food options and a supermarket to keep your biscuit barrel stuffed with provisions.
Don’t just take it from us!
The turbo world-wide legends at Kayak think so too!
Check out their mad-dog page all about it!
